It may not be the meter. At 200 watts wouldn't it take 5 hours to get a kw. Isn't is a kwh meter?

Dan, could you explain to me how the energy goes to the grid when you say you have to turn the Main breaker off when you tie the inverter to your home wiring. Thanks

First, Thanks for the video. I have a 2000 12v inverter, but didn't know about a Grid Tie Inverter. Good to know! I'm planning on using a combination of wind and solar power to charge up a battery bank (I have to work up a little more math first!). at 7:42, the pop-up box on the right said that in an electricity outage, the safety feature shuts it down. Is there a switch to swap from a drid tie inverter over to a regulat inverter?... or should I NOT try that? I don't want my food to spoil!

I'm planning on building a conbination of solar and wind devices to charge up a battery bank. The pop-up at 7:42 said that it won't work if the electricity goes off. Could I just use a regular inverter at that point?... or when the electricity comes back on would that fry a regular inverter (I have a 2000 watt one that I use to put Christmas lights on my car in parades)? Didn't know the difference in regular inverters (like mine), and Grid tie inverters. Thanks for thye education!!!

Great Video :) At 6:27 you explained how these inverters need panels capable of 200 watts. I want to run completely off the grid. I have a series of (20) 200 watt panels for a total of 4000 watts and I will be using 2000 watts per hour from the panels for only 5 hours a day. thats only 10000 watts usage. where does the other 10000 watts that my panels generated go. is this power wasted or will a regular solar inverter store it??

where did you get the grid tie inverter?

Dan I like your videos thank you very much. One thing I would like to comment is that it has too many red text notes. The notes are not very clear and you can't really put so much info there. It seems to me like it was worth it to take the time in the video itself to explain the warning and disclaimers. Thanks again.

Hey Dan,Have you ever thought about doing a video on using UPS as an inverter for solar/wind? Can you use large deep cycle batteries instead of the tiny batteries that are installed in the UPS? And can the UPS be used without it having to be plugged into the wall?

Hi Dan, great video, maybe you can tell me if I can use all my panels with one 300 watt grid tie power inverter. I have three 15 watt panela and one 75 watt paneland I was going to buy one 300 watt grid tie power inverterv a PSWGT-300

i have a question dude like if i buy 2 80w solar panels and hook it up to the inverter and hook it up to the wall will this work a nd if yes like how exactly does it work when there is no light does that mean the inverter sucks power back from the house? |
